Flourish Life Transitions
Retirement is a life transition, not just a financial milestone.
We help individuals and couples prepare psychologically, emotionally, and relationally for the next chapter, so they can move forward with purpose and flourish.
Dr. Sandy Jensen, Ph.D.
Co-Director, Flourish Life Transitions · Psychologist
“Retirement is not just the end of a career. It’s the beginning of a new chapter, and an opportunity to flourish.”
After years of building a career, caring for others, and meeting life’s responsibilities, retirement offers something new: the opportunity to ask, What do I want the next chapter of my life to look like?
For some, retirement brings excitement and freedom. For others, it raises unexpected questions about identity, purpose, relationships, and what comes next. Often, it brings a little of both.
As Co-Director of Flourish Life Transitions, I help individuals and couples explore these questions and prepare for retirement with greater clarity, confidence, and intention. My approach recognizes that a fulfilling retirement involves much more than financial readiness. It also means understanding ourselves, nurturing relationships, discovering new sources of meaning, and creating a life that reflects what matters most.
I bring a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University and decades of experience in clinical psychology, psychological assessment, geriatric services, rehabilitation, and behavioral health. Throughout my career, I have worked with people navigating complex challenges and major life changes. This experience has shaped my belief that meaningful transitions begin with understanding the whole person, not simply the circumstances that brought them to a particular point in life.
At Flourish, I bring that psychological perspective to the retirement journey. Through individual consulting, couples consulting, and group presentations, I help people take a thoughtful look at where they are, what they value, and how they want to move forward.
Retirement is a deeply personal transition, and there is no single right way to experience it. My goal is to help you approach this next chapter with curiosity, purpose, and a renewed sense of possibility.
You have spent years building a life. Let’s explore how to make the next chapter one in which you truly flourish.
